My background

I earned my master’s degree in music therapy from Temple University after spending two years teaching English abroad. Music and travel had always been central to my life. Music offered me a deep sense of connection with others and an almost spiritual experience of being part of something larger than myself. Traveling and living abroad nurtured my curiosity about the world, taught me to become more comfortable with discomfort, and gave me opportunities to observe how cultures and systems shape our experiences. These lessons would later become foundational to my work as a therapist.

The first part of my career was spent as a music therapist in hospice, working with individuals and families at the end of their lives. I found this work to be deeply meaningful, and set the groundwork to move into grief and trauma work.

After completing my counseling degree at the University of Baltimore, I worked for a group practice and saw myself as a generalist as I began to notice what kinds of clients I worked best with and that energized me the most. I learned as much as I could about trauma, the nervous system, and practices beyond “talk therapy” such as using music, art, movement and creative expression to move toward deeper healing.

After completing my counseling degree at the University of Baltimore, I joined a group practice, initially approaching my work as a generalist. Over time, I began to recognize the clients and issues I felt most drawn to, and continued to immerse myself in learning about trauma, the nervous system, and approaches that extend beyond traditional talk therapy.

My own experiences of pregnancy, the postpartum period, and matrescence were nothing short of profound. They deepened my understanding of the ways these experiences can reshape our identities, relationships, and sense of self.
